So, I have been struggling to let go of my meats this week guys. Tacos are one of my favorite meals and the craving for them has been real but, I refused to let my cravings get the best of me so I went on a hunt to find a good meat substitute that I could make at home. To my surprise (not really) there was not one that made me feel like I would get that real ground turkey feel. After doing some research and following my instincts I decided to use 3 of the things that come as close to meat as it can get, cauliflower, mushrooms, and walnuts(this one I got from the vegans). I knew that all three items provided their own meaty texture and would be necessary to get the feel that I wanted.
It is a slight tedious to have to blend each item on it’s own but necessary. Be sure not to over blend your walnuts or you will have walnut butter (I almost did this). I gave the seasonings I use for my tacos but you can absolutely use your own. I do think it’s worth mentioning I’m known for having the best tacos lol so it wouldn’t hurt to give my seasoning mix a try. The best part about this “meat” mixture is that you can use it as a substitute for any recipe that would require a ground meat. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know how you enjoy them.
