Spicy chicken wings

Spicy chicken wings

I love chicken guys….well loved chicken and these are by far the best fried chicken wings I have ever tasted. I’ve been on this vegetarian journey for a while and have axed chicken out of my diet completely but, I thought to myself, that’s not reason not to share an amazing recipe. So, for all of my chicken lovers out there this ones for you.  This recipe embodies everything I once loved about fried chicken.  It has levels of flavor (thanks to marinating), it’s super crunchy, and spicy! I hope you all enjoy this gem as much as me and my family do.

Instructions
  1. Mix hot sauce, crushed peppers, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and herbs together in a large bowl.
  2. Add chicken wings to mixture and combine until all wings are coated with marinade. Cover and chill for 2 hours.
  3. Place flour, corn meal, and seasonings in a bag (zip loc, br own bag, grocery store bag) and shake until seasonings are well combined.
  4. Heat oil over medium heat (375 degrees) in deep fryer or a large pot for 15 minutes.
  5. While oil is heating, use tongs to remove wings from marinade. Place on wire rack over a plate so that additional marinade can drip off..
  6. Toss chicken together in your bag. Sit aside for 30 seconds and toss again.
  7. Once oil is hot place wings in oil and cook until floating in deep fryer or for 15 minutes in pot.
  8. Place a doubled napkin on a plate and place a strainer on top of the plate. When chicken is done place in strainer so that any extra oil can drip off.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes (if you can take it) and enjoy!
